Collection: WASHED SUEDE

What makes Jakett’s washed suede distinctive from other suedes?

It’s not simply that it’s lightweight and unlined (although that is an unquestionable distinction). Nor is it the singular style of the finished piece, as uniquely dappled as the grain is in its raw state. It’s both of those things, combined with a finishing process nearly as old as suede.

We use a unique tanning process called “chroming,” treating it with an enzyme that not only softens the skin but allows it to retain its natural feel and drape.

To help nature along, we then use a brushing technique that restores the nap of the suede, giving it a velvety, supple finish creating a final piece that is as touchable as it is beautiful.
